In 2003, with 25 years of photographic experience and a passion for attending music performances, Cedric began to cover major Ottawa events such as the Ottawa Jazz Festival and Ottawa Bluesfest for the Washington D.C. based lifestyle publication On Tap Magazine.

In May of 2005, Cedric adopted a young black dog named Ceili from the Ottawa Humane Society. Within a few months of spending time with other dog owners in the community and taking photographs of their pets, it became clear that there was a definite market for both action and portrait photography.

Given the focus on music and dogs, Black Dog Photo was born… with a nod to both Ceili and the classic Led Zeppelin tune. Although these remain our primary areas of activity, Black Dog Photo's services include photojournalistic wedding coverage and real estate services as well. Whichever the subject, our promise remains the same… our clients’ satisfaction is key to each and every assignment we take on.
